FAQ

Common questions

01 What's the difference between drafting and architecture?

Drafting is drawing production — turning ideas or existing conditions into precise, dimensioned documents. Architecture is design + drafting + coordination + engineering + code + permits. Drafting is a subset.

02 Can drafted plans be submitted for a permit?

Depends on scope. Simple, non-structural work sometimes. Anything involving structure, envelope, or MEP typically needs a full architectural set with engineering.

03 How much does drafting cost?

Simple floor plans: $600–$1,800. Full residential drafting set (permit-quality): $2,500–$6,500. Complex custom work: $6,500–$15,000.

04 How fast can you turn drawings around?

1–3 weeks typical. Rush turnarounds (3–5 business days) available for a premium.
