How as-builts work
Scope call
We ask what you need the as-builts for (remodel, permit, refi, sale, red tag). Different uses need different levels of detail — we scope accordingly.
Site measure
A licensed team member visits with laser measurement tools and cameras. We document every dimension you might need later.
Drafting
Clean, dimensioned drawings prepared in CAD. Reviewed internally before delivery.
Delivery
Digital files sent to you or your architect / contractor / lender. Prints on request. Revisions covered within 30 days if we missed something.
Common questions
01 How long does it take to get as-built plans?
1–2 weeks for a typical single-family home from site measure to digital delivery. Larger homes or multi-story properties can take up to 3 weeks. Rush turnarounds (5 business days) are available for a premium.
02 What format do you deliver in?
PDF and AutoCAD (DWG) by default. Revit 3D models on request. Printed sets at any scale — we typically prepare a 24×36 or 30×42 set for permit-ready use.
03 Do I need as-builts to sell my home?
Not legally, but they help. Buyers, lenders, and inspectors love accurate as-builts — especially if the home has additions or unpermitted work. Many sellers commission as-builts before listing because they reduce buyer objections and often support a higher sale price.
04 Can as-builts legalize unpermitted work?
As-builts are the first document required in a legalization — they document what exists. Whether the work can be legalized in place depends on whether it meets current code (or can be brought up to it). We can advise on this as part of a red tag resolution engagement.
05 How much do as-built plans cost?
Typical single-family home: $1,800–$3,500 depending on size and complexity. Larger or multi-story homes: $3,500–$6,500. Very small structures (garage, ADU, shed): $900–$1,600. Written quote before we schedule the site visit.
